Photo Exhibition displayed in Salamanca, Spain
2005-10-17 / Roisin Joyce and Max Berre
The photo exhibition “It Is Our Problem Too. The Women of the Prisoners of the Cuban Spring.” was displayed in Salamanca, Spain on October 13-17. The dates of the exhibition coincided with the Iberoamerican Summit of the Head of States and Governments, which was also held in Salamanca this year.

The exhibition was organized by People in Need and Reporters Without Borders. Both NGOs opened the event on October 13 at 18:00 with a press conference for the media accredited in Salamanca for the Iberoamerican Summit. At the conference ICDC and Reporters Without Borders presented an appeal to the summit participants concerning the Cuba´s failure to honor the Viña del Mar Declaration, and invited them to visit the exhibition in order to express support to the numerous political prisoners and to demonstrate condemnation of the systematical violation of human rights in Cuba, a matter which was not included in the official agenda of the Summit.
The exhibition was held in the Sala Unamuno of the General Directorate of Youth in Castilla y Leon, Cuesta del Carmen, 24, Salamanca, Spain, and was also open to the public.
